This Weeks Menu

Every Sunday I clean the fridge, review what I have in the cabinets, review the weekly sales, match up coupons, and make my menu for the following week. Then I make my shopping list. Menu planning helps me avoid impulse buys at the grocery store because I have a list, and I stick to it. Of course I leave enough room in my budget that if I find in great deals or clearance items I can pick those up too.

Here is this weeks menu.

Sunday - chili and grilled cheese
Monday - spicy baked chicken, veggies, crescent rolls
Tuesday - taco salad with chips and salsa
Wednesday - maple glazed ham and veggies

Thursday -veggies and cornbread with leftover chicken and/or glazed ham
Friday - BBQ chicken and veggies
Saturday - Baked ziti with garlic bread

I also calculate the approximate cost of each meal and try to keep it under $7 most night.  Think that isn't possible?  Check out this site for a ton of recipes you can cook for less than $5.  I've heard excellent things about the cookbooks that she has available. ◦
